NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswirein July and August of 2018 the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record numbers of tourist arrivals from America. Israel welcomed 78,000 American tourists during July 2022. It was a 4 percent increase over 2019 seven thousand tourists from America visited Israel in August 2022.
"It is so thrilling to once again see an rise in the number of tourists visiting Israel from the United States, already reaching the record-breaking levels for the year 2019," said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is our most important market for inbound tourism for Israel. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had record-breaking numbers of Israeli tourists entering Israel every month. We are thrilled to see such a positive shift, and we expect this trend to last throughout the months and years to come."
Canada is also on track, as the United States, to surpass the number of tourists who visit Israel. In July 2022, Canada had 7,200 visitors while August witnessed 6,600.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada within the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are close to our record-setting numbers in 2019. We expect that this increase will continue as Canadians are more active in traveling abroad.
Israel received more tourists from around the world in 2019 than any other country. 969 600 of them were Americans. Israel's official reopening to travellers from May 2018. Israel has been home to over 600,400 US tourists since the time of opening.
