Neve Paritzki Israel is celebrating record-breaking Tourism Entry Counts from the United States
NEW YORK - Sep. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Israel Ministry of Tourism today announced new records for arrivals of tourists in Israel from the United States in July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4 percent increase over the year before, and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This is an increase of 13% over 2019.
"It is so thrilling to witness a new increase in tourist numbers to Israel from the United States, already reaching the record-breaking levels for the year 2019" stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States remains our biggest market for tourism to Israel. Before the outbreak of COVID-19 that was in the news, we had record-breaking monthly numbers of tourists entering the country. We are delighted to see this shift and expect an upward trend that will continue for months or even years.
Canada, not too far from the United States of America, is set to beat the number of tourists visiting Israel. It had 7,200 visitors in July 2022, and 6,000 visitors in tourists in August.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada within the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are not too far away from our record-setting numbers in 2019 and we anticipate that this growth in travel to Israel will further increase as Canadians continue to feel more comfortable traveling internationally."
Israel welcomed more than 4.6million visitors in the year 2019, 969,600 of which were from the United States. Since May that year, when Israel opened to all visitors, regardless of their vaccination status More than 600,000.400 US visitors have visited Israel.
