Neve Paritzki Israel celebrates record-breaking entry into tourism The numbers come from the United States

NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This represents a 4 percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This is an increase of 13% over the year before.

Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States is our most important destination for our inbound tourism to Israel. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we had record numbers of Israeli tourists entering Israel every month. We are so happy to have witnessed such a positive shift and expect it to continue for many months and years."

Not far behind in the United States, Canada is also on track to exceed its tourism numbers in Israel with 7,200 visitors in July 2022 , and 6,600 in August.

Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that "it's so exciting to witness how Canada’s tourism is rebounding." We're still not away from our record-setting 2019 numbers and we expect that this increase in Israel travel will continue to increase as Canadians are more comfortable traveling across the world."

Israel welcomed more tourists from all over the world in 2019 than any other nation. 969 600 of them were Americans. Israel's official opening for all tourists was in May of 2018. The country has already received more than 600,400 US travelers since then.
